Refund & Cancellation Policy
Registration cancellations must be submitted in writing to the course provider. Cancellations received at least fourteen (14) calendar days prior to the scheduled course start date are eligible for a full refund, minus any nonrefundable processing fees.
Cancellations received fewer than fourteen (14) calendar days before the course start date are not eligible for a refund; however, participants may request to transfer their registration to a future offering of the same course, subject to availability, within twelve (12) months of the original course date.
No refunds or credits are issued for partial attendance, missed sessions, or failure to attend a course for which the participant is registered.
In the event that the trainers cancel or reschedule a course, registered participants will be offered the option of a full refund or transfer of registration to a future course date.

Participant Complaint and Grievance Procedure
The trainers maintains a written grievance procedure to ensure that participant concerns are addressed in a reasonable, ethical, and timely manner.
Participants who wish to submit a complaint or grievance related to a continuing education course may do so by submitting the concern in writing by email to the course provider. Grievances should include the participant’s name, course title, course date(s), and a brief description of the issue.
Upon receipt of a grievance, the provider will acknowledge receipt by email within two (2) business days. The trainers will review the grievance, including any relevant course records or materials, and may consult with course instructors as appropriate.
A written response addressing the grievance will be provided within ten (10) business days of acknowledgment. If additional time is required to complete the review, the participant will be notified of the anticipated response timeframe.
All grievances and responses are documented and retained in accordance with continuing education record retention requirements. Reasonable efforts will be made to resolve concerns in a manner consistent with professional, ethical, and regulatory standards.
Disability Accommodations Policy
The trainers are committed to providing an inclusive learning environment and to making reasonable accommodations for participants with disabilities or other challenges.
Participants who require accommodations to fully participate in a course are encouraged to submit a written request in advance of the course start date. Requests should describe the nature of the accommodation sought and may be submitted by email to SDTraining2026@gmail.com . Advance notice helps ensure that reasonable accommodations can be evaluated and arranged in a timely manner.

Nancy J. Ross
LCSW
Nancy Ross, LCSW is the principal of Bauer Shepherd & Ross in Cupertino and has spent more than four decades helping individuals, couples, and families navigate complex relational challenges. A mediator and co-founder of the Collaborative Divorce movement, she has been a national and international leader in training lawyers, financial professionals, and mental health practitioners in interdisciplinary collaborative practice. Nancy continues to expand collaborative models into custody, post-divorce parenting, and trusts and estates, advancing a team-based approach that replaces adversarial process with structured, respectful resolution.

Mark Hill
CFP, CDFA
Mark Hill, CFP®, CDFA® is the Founder and Lead Financial Divorce Consultant at Pacific Divorce Management, with more than 40 years of financial experience and over two decades specializing in divorce. A Certified Financial Planner and Certified Divorce Financial Analyst, Mark is a nationally recognized leader in Alternative Dispute Resolution and helped define the role of the Financial Neutral in collaborative divorce. His work is driven by a commitment to bringing clarity and steadiness to complex financial transitions.

Jaye-Jo Portanova
MD
Jaye-jo Portanova, MD is a board-certified adult and child psychiatrist with more than 40 years of experience working with families across diverse clinical settings. She serves as a mediator, collaborative divorce coach, and child specialist. Dr. Portanova is passionate about teaching and training professionals in the evolving field of collaborative law.

Myra Chack Fleischer
JD, CLS-F
With nearly three decades in family law and a background in accounting, Myra Fleischer, JD, CLS-F prioritizes resolving cases outside of court through mediation and collaborative settlement. She is a highly regarded mediator with an exceptional record in complex matters and is among a select group of attorneys qualified to serve as a court-appointed Special Master on financial issues. Myra also consults on complex financial cases for fellow attorneys, guided by a commitment to minimize conflict and support durable family-centered resolutions.

Shawn Weber
JD, CLS-F
Shawn Weber, JD, CLS-F is a mediator, attorney, and educator with more than twenty-six years of experience helping individuals and families resolve conflict with steadiness and respect. A Certified Specialist in Family Law, he draws on extensive courtroom and mediation experience to inform, reality test, and guide complex negotiations with clarity and balance. Shawn is also a nationally recognized mediation trainer who teaches lawyers, therapists, and financial professionals how to blend legal insight with human understanding in the practice of collaborative conflict resolution.
